Nahomi Kawasumi Named to NWSL Team of the Month

SEATTLE - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) today announced

Seattle Reign FC forward Nahomi "Naho" Kawasumi has been named to the NWSL Team

of the Month for the month of May. This is the second straight month a Reign FC

player has earned the honor during the 2017 NWSL season.

Reign FC went 2-0-2 during the month of May, with Naho

starting and playing the full 90 minutes in all four matches. The forward had

five assists and one goal during the month, tallying an NWSL record four

assists in the club's 6-2 win over the Washington Spirit on May 13th.

Thanks to her record-setting performance against the Spirit,

Naho was named NWSL Player of the Week. Aside from setting a record for most

assists in a single match, Naho also became the first player in league history

to be directly involved in five goals in a match.

Assisting on goals by midfielder Christine Nairn in the 20th

minute, forward Beverly Yanez in the 35th minute, forward Megan

Rapinoe in the 71st minute and midfielder Lindsay Elston in the 79th

minute, Naho also scored a goal of her own in the 68th minute.
