Washington Mystics News Release
The Washington Mystics dropped their fourth consecutive game while the New York Liberty got their first win at the Verizon Center since August 16, 2009 and their first win on the road this season. The Liberty led by as much 29 points in the game and outscored the Mystics 35-13 in the first quarter. The Mystics outscored the Liberty 20-11 in the fourth quarter, coming within three points with 1:37 remaining in the game after two back-to-back three-pointers by Mystics guard Matee Ajavon.
The Mystics were led by forward Crystal Langhorne who scored 24 points, shooting 10-for-16 from the field. Langhorne also grabbed six rebounds and collected two steals. Mystics center Michelle Snow entered the starting lineup for the first time this season, posting her first double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Mystics bench outscored the Liberty bench 25-10 with Ajavon lead- ing the pack with 10 points.

Overall thoughts on the second half:
"We have to start the game ready to play. We cannot keep digging these twenty-four point holes and using so much energy to come back."
FROM THE FRONT LINE:
Another valiant comeback effort from the Mystics, but yet again they fell just short, and dropped their fourth straight game in a 76-70 loss Friday night vs. the Liberty. The loss can be attributed to the 1st quarter, in which the Mystics were outscored 35-13. These slow starts con- tinue to plague the team, but the fact that they continue to fight back shows that the potential to win games is there. The key now is to figure out how to do it for the full 40 minutes and not have these lulls that result in large deficits. At 1-5, there is still time to right the ship and turn the season around, but with the Olympic break about a month away, they will want to start racking up the wins soon to carry that momentum into the month off.
