Washington Mystics News Release

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Mystics selected Forward Bernice Mosby with the sixth overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft. A 6-1 forward out of Baylor, Mosby averaged 17.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game this season and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. She was also an AP-All American Honorable Mention. Prior to transferring to Baylor, Mosby attended the University of Florida where she was voted the Southeastern Conference Sixth Woman of the Year.

"She (Mosby) brings a tremendous work ethic, athleticism and versatility," said General Manager Linda Hargrove. "She was what we were looking for in the draft."

Washington selected 5-11 Forward Megan Vogel in the second round (19th overall pick) out of South Dakota State University. Vogel averaged 15.5 points during her career with the Jacks. She was named All-Division I Independent First Team in 2006 and 2007.

The Mystics added 6-7 Center Gillian Goring in the third round (32nd overall pick) from North Carolina State University. She averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in two seasons with the Wolfpack. Prior to transferring to NC State, Goring attended the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith where she was named the Bi-State All-Conference and NJCAA All-American.

"Megan is a true small forward who has great skill set," added Hargrove. "Goring at 6-7 has tremendous opportunity to advance her basketball career. She gives us strong low block presence and has a variety of moves that should be effective at this level."

The Mystics will tip off its tenth season on Saturday May 19th at 6:00 p.m. when the team hosts conference rival, Connecticut Sun. Washington will be the host of the 2007 WNBA All- Star game on July 15th. Season tickets, partial plans and All-Star tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Mystics Sales Office at 1-877-DC-HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
