Frederick Keys News Release
FREDERICK, Md. -For the second straight year, fans will have an opportunity to purchase mystery signed baseballs on Thursday, April 9 starting at 6:00 p.m. when the Frederick Keys kickoff their 2015 season against the Winston-Salem Dash. Baseballs are $10 each and are autographed by members of the Keys and Baltimore Orioles as well as other sports and entertainment stars. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Joel A. Stephens Memorial Fund, also known as Frederick Keys Care.
Keys Care was established in 1999 and supports nonprofit organizations which provide direct services to youth and young adults in Frederick County. In the past, Keys Care has awarded grants to Project Alive, Heartly House, Lead4Life, Frederick National Little League and our local Boys and Girls Club. The fund was created in honor of former Orioles minor leaguer, Joel Stephens, who died in 1998 at age 22.
This year more than 80 baseballs are available for purchase and have been signed by different players and teams from across the MLB, MiLB, NHL, NASCAR and college ranks. Those who have signed baseballs include: Adam Jones, Zach Britton, Manny Machado, Chris Tillman, Chris Davis, Matt Wieters, Hanley Ramirez, Dwight Gooden and Kasey Kahne. Multiple team baseballs are in the mix as well and will include several signed by this year's Frederick Keys.
Baseballs will be available while supplies last and can be purchased on the concourse. There is no limit on how many mystery balls fans can buy. For those interested in trading, there will be a swapping area located in the courtyard.
Keys ticket plans are on sale, while each plan comes with the choice of a Zach Britton or Kevin Gausman bobblehead. For more information, contact an account manager at 301-815-9900. Individual game tickets go on sale April 3 at 10:00 a.m.
The Frederick Keys are the Advanced-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and play their home games at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. For more information about the Frederick Keys please contact Geoff Arnold by phone at (301)-815-9915 or by emailing at GArnold@FrederickKeys.com.
