Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Hooks have added a postgame concert by America's U2 Tribute Band on Saturday, July 13.
Austin-based Mysterious Ways will perform live at Whataburger Field after the Hooks tangle with the Frisco RoughRiders in a 7:05 contest. Media partners are the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, KIII-TV3 and ClearChannel Radio.
"Mysterious Ways will cap a truly special night at the ballpark," Hooks general manager and resident U2 expert Michael Wood said. "I drove all the way to Monterrey and Estadio Tecnologico to see U2 in concert during the Vertigo Tour (2006). U2 has been making incredible music for 35 years and Mysterious Ways' set list is sure to please fans."
They play songs like "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Where The Streets Have No Name," "Pride (In The Name Of Love)," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," "With Or Without You," "One," "Mysterious Ways," "Bullet In The Blue Sky," "Beautiful Day," "New Year's Day," "All I Want Is You," "Desire," "Stuck In A Moment," and "I Will Follow."
The 2009-10 Austin Chronicle reader's music poll best cover band is comprised of Patrick Fleming (Bono), Jonathan Richerson (The Edge), Drew Walters (Adam Clayton) and Scott Raulie (Larry Mullin, Jr.).
Advance tickets for July 13 ($12/$6) and all other Hooks home dates are on sale at cchooks.com, the Whataburger Field box office and 361-561-HOOK (4665). Also on 7/13, the first 1,750 fans receive a Hooks Red and Black jersey from CITGO... a giveaway sure to resonate with Texas Tech fans!
