Musketeers Net Shutout for Third Straight Win

Fargo, ND - The Sioux City Musketeers collected their third consecutive win with a 4-0 victory over the Fargo Force on Friday.

Leading the way for the Musketeers was net minder Croix Kochendorfer (2-0-1) who picked up the win and his first USHL shutout by stopping all 23 shots he faced and kept Fargo off the scoreboard.

It was the first time this season that Fargo has been shutout and the first time the Force have lost in regulation since September 22nd at the Fall Classic.

Less than five minutes into the contest, Musketeers forward Sam Deckhut started the scoring with a power play goal, his first of the season, to give Sioux City a 1-0 lead. Sioux City went 1/3 on the power play, Fargo came up empty in three different man advantages.

Sawyer Scholl tallied his second goal of the year at the 10:22 mark of the first to give Sioux City a 2-0 lead at the end of the first.

Ryan Conmy went bar down on a shot from the slot at the 15:47 mark of the second to give the Musketeers a 3-0 lead. Conmy then added another goal with an empty net at 13:27 in the third as Fargo pulled their goalie early in the period. The second goal of the night and fifth of the season for the Sioux City forward gave the game its final score of 4-0.

Anton Castro took the loss for Fargo allowing the three goals on 21 shots.

With the win Sioux City improves to 3-3-2. They will once again face the Force on Saturday night with puck drop scheduled for 6:05 pm from Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND.
