Murfreesboro Musicians News Release

The Murfreesboro Musicians won their fourth game at home in five outings with a 107-92 victory over the Arkansas Archangels Saturday night at Musicians Arena in Murfreesboro.

The Musicians were led to victory by Center, Cedric McGinnis, who had a huge night with 41 points and 12 rebounds. Will Pippin followed up with 26 points and Tommy Gunn nearly had a triple double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 steals.

Murfreesboro held a 42-40 lead at the half, but broke open the game with 12-2 run to open up the third quarter. Pippin nailed three 3 pointers in the run to give the Musicians control of the game. Arkansas never threatened after that and Murfreesboro controlled the action the rest of the way.

"It has been a tough run for us with having the play 5 games in 8 days and with having to play the defending WBA Champs, Rome four of our first 8 games! We've done that with a very young team and we've matured a great deal along the way. It has been though one of the toughest early season schedules that I've ever had a team have to go through. This win tonight over a good Arkansas team really moves us in the right direction. There is a long way to go before a Champion is crowned and I feel we are one of those teams that is in the midst of things and who can truly compete down the stretch for the WBA Championship this year in our first season. We'll just see how all of this plays out as we move forward." states Musicians Head Coach Steve Tucker.

Murfreesboro is off until next Friday night, May 19th when they host the Cartersville Warriors. Tip off will be at 7pm at Musicians Arena at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro.
