Dawkins, who changed his introduction music from Fabolous to Eminem, said it would inspire him to go 5-for-5. He fell short, but reached base in all three plate appearances.

The Suns (26-30) turned four double plays in all, backing starter Joel Hanrahan (6-2) to victory. Hanrahan allowed one run in seven innings, scattering five hits.

Reggie Abercrombie extended his league-leading hitting streak to 12 games with his RBI triple in the second inning off Tennessee starter Rhett Parrott. Parrott (2-6) earned the loss, lasting five innings. He allowed a run-scoring single to Dawkins in the second to give the Suns a 2-0 lead.

B.J. Waszgis singled in Abercrombie in the fourth inning, giving Jacksonville a 3-0 lead. Dawkins' two-run home run to left field following, scoring Waszgis. Victor Diaz hit his fifth home run – a solo shot – in the fifth inning to cap the scoring.

Yadier Molina had three of the five hits and drove in the lone run for Tennessee (32-25).

Right-hander Tommy Farmer (4-3, 3.50 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Suns against Smokies righty Jeremy Cummings (5-4, 4.13) at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
