Evansville, IN: Evansville Thunderbolts goalie, Alex Murray showed an extreme amount of heart, playing and making tough saves until the final buzzer of the Birmingham game sounded. The effort for the Thunderbolts came up short with a 10-1 loss on the board, with Murray standing tall in relentless effort.

Frank Schumacher picked up a power play goal at the 17:00 mark of the second period with an assist from Rory Rawlyk. The third period would see a pair of fights, as Scott Donahue took on Kasey Kulczycki, and later on a near-brawl broke out, highlighted by a fight between Schumacher and Jacob Barber. Murray finished the night with 34 saves in net.

The Evansville Thunderbolts head to Quad City next weekend to take on the Storm at the TaxSlayer Center. Both games, set for Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th, will get underway at 7:10pm CT. You can catch the action on SPHL Live and on the Thunderbolts Radio Network, on EvansvilleThunderbolts.com, the Thunderbolts MixLr Channel, and on the official app of the Thunderbolts, available on Google Play and the App Store.
