LAST TIME OUT: Henry Dill made 33 saves on 35 shots, Steve Mele had two assists and Colin Murray, Alex Adams and Jesse Schwartz each scored as the Rail Yard Dawgs beat the Quad City Storm, 3-2, Friday night at TaxSlayer Center

FAR FROM HOME: The Storm are the team that plays the farthest from the Rail Yard Dawgs as Moline's TaxSlayer Center is a 793 mile drive from Berglund Center. The Dawgs are in the Quad Cities to play games five, six and seven of the 11 consecutive games they will play away from home ice. Roanoke is 9-9-3 on the road this season and 13-10-1 at home. The Dawgs are 2-3-1 on the current road swing. Of their 11 remaining regular season games, seven will come on the road and four will be played at home.

DILL'S DAY: Henry Dill made his first start as a Rail Yard Dawg on Friday night and made 33 saves on 35 shots. Dill had previously played one game in relief of Jacob Caffrey, who had started each of the previous four Roanoke games. He appeared in four games for the Macon Mayhem earlier in the season but joined the Dawgs from the FHL Carolina Thunderbirds on February 21. Dill was recently named the FHL's goaltender of the month for February; he went 4-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV% for the Thunderbirds in February.

THE PLAYOFF PICTURE: Roanoke's win on Friday, coupled with a Fayetteville loss in Macon, brought the Rail Yard Dawgs into a tie with the Marksmen for sixth place in the SPHL standings. The Dawgs had been in seventh since January 11. Roanoke is also within shouting distance of the tie for fourth place; Knoxville and Macon are even in fourth with 51 points, just three clear of the Dawgs' 48. The Rail Yard Dawgs play the Marksmen and Ice Bears once more each this season and have four games remaining against Pensacola, who is in eighth place and just six points behind the Dawgs.

MURRAY'S MILESTONE: Colin Murray netted his 16th goal of the season on Friday, establishing a new career high. He surpassed his 15 goals from the 2017-18 season. Murray's 20 assists are also the most he has recorded in his pro career.

HELLO, OLD FRIEND: Former Rail Yard Dawg Phil Bronner is an alternate captain for the Storm. The winger was traded to Quad City from Roanoke in the preseason. Bronner played 84 games for Roanoke over two seasons and had 12 goals and 22 assists in his time with the Dawgs. In 38 games for the Storm this year he has two goals and 12 assists. The Quad City roster also features defenseman Cody Walsh, who played 55 games for Roanoke in the 2016-17 season, and goaltender Ryan Mulder, who spent training camp with the Rail Yard Dawgs.

UP NEXT: The Dawgs road swing continues in Florida with a pair of games against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Puck drop on Friday night at the Pensacola Bay Center is scheduled for 7:35 PM CST.
