Wood fired six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and no walks, while striking out five batters. In three appearances, including one start, with Kansas City this spring Wood is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and has chalked up ten strikeouts against just two walks in 12 innings.
Omaha is now 0-2-1 three games into the club's 13-game Cactus League schedule.
Omaha's next Spring Training game is Sunday, when the Royals travel to Peoria, Arizona to face the Portland Beavers (San Diego's Triple-A affiliate).
The Royals open their 2006 Pacific Coast League regular season at Rosenblatt Stadium on Thursday, April 6th at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Nashville Sounds.
