SURPRISE, AZ - Omaha second baseman Donnie Murphy hit a two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday, lifting the Royals to a 3-3 tie with the Salt Lake Bees in Cactus League action at the Royals Spring Training complex in Surprise, Arizona.

Right-hander Mike Wood, who's vying to be part of Kansas City's rotation coming out of the spring, had another strong outing. Wood fired six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and no walks, while striking out five batters. In three appearances, including one start, with Kansas City this spring Wood is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and has chalked up ten strikeouts against just two walks in 12 innings.

Omaha is now 0-2-1 three games into the club's 13-game Cactus League schedule.

Omaha's next Spring Training game is Sunday, when the Royals travel to Peoria, Arizona to face the Portland Beavers (San Diego's Triple-A affiliate).

The Royals open their 2006 Pacific Coast League regular season at Rosenblatt Stadium on Thursday, April 6th at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Nashville Sounds.
