
Mudcats wallop Grasshoppers, 19-1

Zebulon, NC --- In its only in-state tune-up before the start of the Southern League season on Thursday, the Carolina Mudcats drubbed their younger Marlins affilate sibling Greensboro Grasshoppers 19-1 at Five County Stadium.
Logan Kensing ptiched four shutout innings and connected for a solo home run in the third inning. Kensing allowed one hit and fanned three. Four other pitchers combined to permit four hits and one walk the rest of the way.
A pair of seven-run innings - the 4th and 8th - sparked the Mudcats.
Admission was free to Tuesday's game, however donations from the fans in attendance will be given to CARE for its tsunami relief efforts overseas.
The Mudcats start the season at home on Thursday against the Huntsville Stars at 7:15 PM.
