
Mudcats see roster changes prior to finale

Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have made a series of transactions affecting the Double-A Carolina Mudcats prior to the regular season finale Monday afternoon against the Jacksonville Suns.
RHP Jose Garcia has been promoted to the major leagues, and is in uniform today in Miami, Floirda as the Marlins host the Arizona Diamondbacks. Garcia went 6-7 with an ERA of 3.40 over 14 starts with the Mudcats, working a career-high 165 2/3 innings. Garcia becomes the third Mudcat player to reach the majors after Taylor Tankersley and Anibal Sanchez, who both remain with the Marlins.
RHP David Humen has been promoted to the Mudcats from Low-A Greensboro, and will make the start today against the playoff-bound Suns. Humen, a 25-year-old from Bethel College in Indiana, was 2-3 with a 4.39 ERA in 30 appearances (eight starts) with Greensboro.
RHP Jason Jarrett has also been added to the Mudcats' roster prior to today's finale. Jarrett was the Marlins 27th round pick in last year's draft from Virginia Wesleyan College. Jarrett has spent time this season with Jamestown (New York-Penn), Greensboro (South Atlantic) and Jupiter (Florida State), compiling a record of 1-2 over 31 relief appearances.
Carolina opens the 2007 regular season at Birmingham on April 7, 2007.
