
Mudcats Announce 2006 Field Staff, Game Time Change

Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced the 2006 field staff for the Carolina Mudcats and a game time change for Sunday, August 20th against the Tennessee Smokies.
Luis Dorante will skipper the Mudcats in their fourth season affiliated with the Marlins. Dorante was the bullpen coach for the major league club last season after serving as manager of the Class A Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League from 2002 through 2004. Dorante managed the Hammerheads to a pair of playoff appearances, and will endeavor to guide Carolina to its third post-season berth in its period with the Marlins.
Carolina's new hitting coach will be Paul Sanagorski, a former 25-year head coach at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. Sanagorski was also named Sportsman of the Year in 1999 by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Committee.
Steve Moreno will be returning for his second season as the trainer, and will be the senior member of Carolina's staff.
The Marlins are still in the process of filling the pitching coach position, which will be announced shortly.
The Mudcats open the 2006 regular season on Thursday, April 6th in Mobile, Alabama against the BayBears. The home opener for the Mudcats will be Sunday, April 16th against the Jacksonville Suns.
Carolina's homestand opener on Sunday, August 20th against the Tennessee Smokies has been changed to 4:00 PM ET to accommodate return travel. This will be the only Sunday home game during the regular season to begin at 4:00. All other Sunday games will start at 2:00 PM.
