BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs followed up their strongest season in team history by winning the CHL Community Relations Franchise of the Year Award at the CHL Summer Conference on Saturday night in Phoenix, Arizona.

The award is given to the Central Hockey League franchise which best demonstrated commitment and excellence in the field of community relations. The award comes on the heals of the most successful season in franchise history, as the Mudbugs captured the Bud Poile Governor's Cup, awarded to the team with the best regular season record. The Bugs won their last ten games of the season, finishing 44-14-6.

"It was a tremendous honor to win CHL Franchise of the Year last season, but this award means a great deal more," said Mudbugs General Manager Jason Rent. "We feel very fortunate that the community has embraced us for ten years now and we look forward to giving back to the communities of Bossier and Shreveport as much as we can in future years."

The Mudbugs were involved in the community in several different ways during the 2006-2007 season. Head Coach Scott Muscutt recently held a Special Olympics camp consisting of nearly 300 Special Olympians three weeks ago. The team continues to visit and raise money for the Hal Sutton Children's Foundation, which funds the 60,000 square foot CHRISTUS Schumpert Sutton Children's Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.

Season ticket packages are available for the 2007-2008 season of Mudbugs Hockey. Call the front office to reserve your seats today at 318-752-BUGS (2847) or visit www.mudbugshockey.com.
