Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League today announced the first member of their 2004-2005 team. All-star goaltender Ken Carroll has been re-signed for his fourth season in Bossier-Shreveport. The Oil City, Ontario native is the Mudbugs' all-time leader in wins by a goaltender (77) and has led the team to two President's Cup Finals in his three seasons with the franchise.

Last year, Carroll was nominated for CHL Goaltender of the Year honors after posting a 25-11-3 record with a 2.17 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. In the playoffs, he finished first in the league in wins for the second time in his career and guided the Mudbugs to their fourth President's Cup Finals appearance. In his rookie season of 2001, he led the Mudbugs to the President's Cup Championship and earned Goaltender and Rookie of the Year honors in the WPHL.

"We all know that Kenny is a winner and the backbone of our team so signing him first was obviously a priority," said Mudbugs Head Coach Scott Muscutt. "Kenny has taken this team to a championship level from the first day he came to Bossier-Shreveport and his work ethic is second to none. I'm thrilled to announce his signing and I know we all look forward to seeing him back in a Mudbugs uniform once again."

Carroll is 77-34-8 in his three seasons with the Mudbugs and has posted at least 25 wins in each campaign. This year will be his fifth in professional hockey after graduating in 2000 from the University of New Brunswick, where he led the Varsity Reds to a CIAU Championship in 1998. The 5'10 180-pound netminder is also the Mudbugs' all-time leader in games played by a goaltender (123) and shutouts (12).

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will begin their eighth season of hockey in the Ark-La-Tex on October 22nd. For more information on season ticket packages and corporate partnerships for the 2004-2005 season, please call 318-752-2847 or visit www.mudbugshockey.com.
