Mudbugs Make it Three in a Row

BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Mudbugs wasted no time in getting on the board early. Daniel Pegoraro took a feed from Karlis Zirnis and buried it past Austin goaltender Miguel Beaudry. The Bugs would score one more as Karliz Zirnis grabbed a rebound right of the net and lifted it in to put Bossier-Shreveport on top by two.
Chris Brassard would intercept a pass while on the penalty kill in the second period. He faked a slapshot on the breakaway and then unloaded a picture perfect shot in the upper left hand corner, giving the Bugs a 3-0 lead. The Ice Bats finally answered on a shorthanded goal of there own. John McNabb beat John DeCaro on a short handed breakaway.
The Mudbugs held Austin scoreless in the third, through 6 powerplay opportunities including a 5 on 3. Dan Wildfong would score an empty net goal in the final minute as the Bugs earned their third straight victory.
