KILLER BEES TEAM NOTES
EVEN-STRENGTH GOALS AT A PREMIUM
The Bees have scored just 10 even-strength goals in 18 periods this season. In all, 11 of the team's 21 goals have come via the power play.
FAST START
This season marks the third time the Bees entered their fifth game of the season with a 3-1 record. Last year, the team beat Lubbock on opening night, lost to Lubbock the night after that, then beat OKC and Austin on the road before coming home to beat Laredo and improve to 4-1. In 2004-05, the Bees opened the season with a loss at Austin, then came home and rattled off wins against Laredo, Austin and Corpus Christi to improve to 3-1.
49 SHOTS ON OPENING NIGHT
The Bees tested Arizona's Kris Mayotte with 49 shots on opening night but surprisingly did not set a CHL early high-water mark. Oklahoma City poured 50 shots on Bossier-Shreveport on Oct. 20 en route to a 5-3 win. Goalie John Decaro made 49 saves, as the 50th shot was an empty-net goal.
