Toledo Mud Hens Promotions for August 8-14
Friday, August 8 (Norfolk, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM - Gates open at 5:30) - The Mud Hens host Norfolk in the series opener on "Ode To â8' Night" (8/8/08). The first 3,000 fans inside the park will receive "Crazy 8's Mud Hens Playing Cards". Other prizes will be awarded to fans that have the number eight in their current age or date of birth and will be given eight-themed giveaways, such as hot dog buns. Following the game, Fifth Third Field will put on a fireworks display. "Ode To â8' Night" has been named in the Top 10 minor league promotions for the week in minor league baseball. The game can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM and will also be televised live on BCSN.
Saturday, August 9 (Norfolk, 1st pitch at 7:00 PM - Gates open at 5:30) - Game two between the Hens and Tides will feature an appearance from Ronald McDonald. In addition, the first 5,000 fans will receive Thunderstix courtesy of Verizon Wireless. Don't forget to stick around for more post-game fireworks! Sunday, August 10 (Norfolk, 1st Pitch at 6:30 PM - Gates open at 5:00) - Sunday evening at Fifth Third Field will be Catholic Youth Day. In following with Mud Hens' tradition, it is "Autograph Sunday" prior to the game and Applebee's Kids Run the Bases following the contest. Fifth Third Field closes the weekend with fireworks after Kids Run the Bases. The game can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM and seen live on BCSN.
Monday, August 11 (Norfolk, 1st Pitch at 7:00 PM - Gates open at 6:00) -The series finale will showcase an appearance from Spiderman in this comic book-themed evening. The first 3,000 fans will receive a limited edition MiLB Marvel Comic Book with a Toledo Mud Hens themed cover. All spectators will have an opportunity to meet comic book artist Greg Horn during an autograph session from 6:30-8:00. One lucky fan will win an X-Box 360 and an MLB 2K8 video game as well. Wednesday, August 13 (Louisville, 1st Pitch at 7:00 PM - Gates open at 6:00) - The Mud Hens open the season series finale versus the Louisville Bats with the 4th annual Gene Cook pre-game clinic from 5:15-6:15. The first 3,000 fans at the park will receive "Go Hens!" Thunderstix. The contest between the Hens and the Bats can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM and seen live on BCSN.
Thursday, August 14 (Louisville, 1st Pitch at 7:00 PM - Gates open at 6:00) - The Hens and Bats wrap up the two-game set and the season series Thursday on "Dirty Laundry" and "Red Hat Ladies" night. The first 1,500 fans will receive a laundry bag and 3,000 fans will be given "Go Hens!" Thunderstix. Ronald McDonald is also scheduled to make an appearance during the game. Fifth Third Field has also added "weekend fireworks" to this Thursday evening contest. The final regular season game between the Hens and the Bats can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM and seen live on BCSN.
