Today's Game- The Staten Island Yankees come to Dwyer Stadium for the final game of a three game series. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2016. Staten Island won the series that year 2-1. Batavia travels out for a six-game road trip to Vermont and State College.

That was last night- In another close contest last night, the Muckdogs were able to hang on to a 5-4 win over the Staten Island Yankees. Michael Donadio went 3-4 with a double, Denis Karas also went 2-4 and scored two runs. Batavia snapped a four-game losing skid with the victory.

Donadio digging in- Michael Donadio has now hits in 13 of his last 15 games. He's tallied 20 hits, one home run and has crossed the plate eight times in that span. He is tied for second on the team with three home runs. He left St. John's with the second most all-time hits with 268.

Reynolds Raking- Sean Reynolds has been able to find the power in his bat this season. He currently leads the league in home runs and extra-base hits, second in the league lead in RBI's and also leads the league in runs scored. He is also the league leader in walks with 23.

Jammed Up July- Batavia's offense has slowed up significantly in the month of July. They have opened up the first half of the month with a 10-13 record, and have scored only 4.1 runs per game. That has taken a steep decline from the 5.2 runs per game that the Muckdogs were putting up in June.

Close Calls- Batavia has played a total of 37 games this season, 22 of which have been decided by two runs or less. The Muckdogs are 11-12 in those games. Batavia has the fourth best reord in one-run games, and the worst record in two-run games at 2-6.

Beginning from behind- The Muckdogs have had trouble with giving up early leads in ballgames. Batavia has trailed after the fifth inning on 19 different occasions so far this season, and have gone 4-15 in those contests.

Recent Roster Action- On July 26th, Luis Mojica was transferred to the GCL Marlins , and Tyler Kolek was promoted from the GCL Marlins

Marlins Update- The Marlins had yesterday off.
