High Desert Mavericks News Release

Adelanto, CA - The High Desert Mavericks announced today that radio broadcaster Mike Lindskog, who has served as the "Voice of the Mavs" for the last three seasons, will be moving on.

Lindskog will join the El Paso Diablos as the Director of Promotions / Radio Broadcaster for the 2004 season. The Diablos are the AA Texas League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks and also one of the teams within the Brett Sports Family.

"This is an amazing opportunity for me to help further my broadcasting career as well as to contribute to the Diablos Marketing and Promotions Department", said Lindskog. "As a broadcaster, you're always looking to make your next move to a higher level. Brett Sports has given me that opportunity to remain within the family and get one step closer to achieving my goal of being a Major League broadcaster. I would like to thank everyone who supported the Mavericks and myself personally during my time in High Desert."

Lindskog joined the Mavericks three and a half years ago from Spokane, WA, where he spent eight seasons working in marketing and radio for another member of Brett Sports, the Spokane Indians Baseball Team.

"We are very proud and excited for Mike", said Mavs General Manager Bruce Mann. "He has been a great broadcaster and a very important part of the Mavericks family for over three years. We'll miss him here, but we know that he'll be successful in the Texas League."

Lindskog joins Brent Miles, Derrel Ebert and Monica Ortega as former Mavs front office staff who have joined the Diablos within the last six months.

The new "Voice of the Mavs" has yet to be named, but Mavs General Manager Bruce Mann will make an official announcement within the next few weeks.

Don't forget that Opening Day at Mavericks Stadium is drawing close. After the regular season opens in Lancaster on Friday, April 8th, the Mavs return home for their home opener at Friendly Mavericks Stadium on Monday, April 12th at 7:05. Opening Night at Mavericks Stadium means Fireworks for everyone in attendance, so get your Season Tickets and Mini-Plan Packages now by calling 246-MAVS.
