June 23, 2015 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Vermont Mountaineers News Release
MONTPELIER, Vt. - Tuesday night's New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) contest between the Vermont Mountaineers and Sanford Mainers has been postponed due to inclement weather in Central Vermont.
The tarp was placed on Recreation Field on Monday night following the conclusion of the Mountaineers game against Valley, but heavy rainfall throughout the night greatly worsened the conditions, making the field unplayable.
The game will be made up on Sunday, June 28, at Recreation Field. The first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. The Mountaineers will now hold a four-game homestand from Friday, June 26 through Monday, June 29. All games are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Vermont will return to action on Thursday, June 25, when the team travels to Holyoke, Massachusetts, to take on the Valley Blue Sox. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on CBS Sports 1240 WSKI and online at thevermontmountaineers.com.
