Vermont Mountaineers News Release
Montpelier, Vt.- Thursday night's season-opening New England Collegiate Baseball League game between the Vermont Mountaineers and Valley Blue Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather in the Holyoke, Massachusetts, area. No make-up date has been announced.
The tarp was placed on the infield of Mackenzie Stadium to keep the surface dry, but heavy rain flooded the outfield.
The Mountaineers will open their season on Friday night when they hit the road to take on the Laconia Muskrats in NECBL play at Robbie Mills Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on CBS Sports 1240 WSKI and online at thevermontmountaineers.com.
