Morrison, Frattin Tally Multi-Point Games in Heat Loss

San Diego, Calif. - The Stockton Heat receive multi-point efforts from Kenney Morrison and Matt Frattin, while Morgan Klimchuk retakes the team-lead in goals with his 11th on the season, but the San Diego Gulls were able to score three goals in the third period to down the Heat 5-3 Wednesday night in San Diego. Mark Jankowski also scored in the contest, sharing the Heat's top spot in goals briefly before Klimchuk netted his goal less than four minutes later. However, a pair of power-play goals, as well as a late shorthanded marker led the Gulls past the Heat for the first time in regulation this season. The Heat now hold a 6-1-0-1 record against San Diego, as Stockton now looks ahead to Friday's meeting with the rival Condors in Bakersfield.

"[San Diego] was the much better team all night. I don't think our effort tonight was anywhere near what we're capable of. It was a game that we had an opportunity to win, but we just didn't play the right way tonight." - Coach Huska with his overall thoughts on tonight's game.

"We had so many turnovers tonight. For our team to have success, we can't turn the puck over like that. We found that out the hard way tonight. That's one area we have to correct and that's about taking care of your teammates more than anything. If you don't take care of the puck, you're asking for trouble and it got us tonight." - Coach Huska on what specifically he saw that the team needs to fix heading into Friday in Bakersfield.
