COLUMBUS, OHIO - Max Moroff hit a home run from both sides of the plate and the Indianapolis Indians pitching staff limited the Columbus Clippers to just one run to prevail in the series opener on Saturday evening, 6-1.Moroff opened the game's scoring with a one-out solo blast from the right side of the plate in the top of the first inning. His second home run of the night came in the eighth inning when he launched a two-run shot to extend. Moroff has matched his career-high in long balls and leads the International League with eight. Columbus (11-16) tied the game quickly after Moroff's first homer. Chris Colabello lined a single to center field to plate Bradley Zimmer in the bottom of the first inning. Indianapolis (9-16) regained the lead with a run in the seventh inning. With Jason Rogers at second base, Joey Terdoslavich grounded a single up the middle to drive home Rogers. It gave the Tribe the 2-1 advantage. The second Moroff blast extended the lead to 4-1, and Anderson Feliz clubbed a home run of his own in the top of the ninth inning. His two-run blast gave the game its final margin of 6-1 in favor of the Indians. Angel Sanchez (1-2) threw two scoreless innings and earned the victory after relieving starter Steven Brault to start the sixth. Brault worked five innings; he allowed just one run and struck out seven. Ryan Merritt (2-3) was chased by Terdoslavich's single, and was handed the loss. The left-hander allowed two earned runs and walked a pair of batters. The Indians and Clippers will conclude their brief two-game series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m. The Tribe will return to Victory Field on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. to open a seven-game homestand.
