
Morgan Zerkle Signs with Chicago Bandits for 2020

Rosemont, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits and outfielder Morgan Zerkle have agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2020 NPF season, team officials announced Tuesday morning.
"We couldn't be more excited to add a skill set like Morgan's to our ball club," Bandits GM Toni Calmeyn said. "She's proven to be an incredible asset at both the collegiate and professional level, and we can't wait to see what she does this summer."
Zerkle was selected by the Scrap Yard Dawgs in the 2017 NPF Draft after an illustrious career at Marshall University. The 2017 NFCA All-American, Senior CLASS All-American and Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American, finished her collegiate career tied or owning five of the longest streaks in MU Softball history, and has quite the showing in the record books.
She solely holds the record in batting average (.451), triples (14) and stolen bases (162), and reached second all-time in slugging percentage (.594), on-base percentage (.489), runs (181), hits (289) and total bases (381).
Zerkle was named the 2017 Conference USA Player of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year, in addition to being a four-time All-Conference and NFCA All-Region selection.
"It is an awesome opportunity to become a Bandit and continue my professional softball career in Chicago," Zerkle said. "I am excited for an incredible summer working with great coaches and teammates!"
