Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits have signed infielder Ali Aguilar to a one-year contract good for the 2020 NPF season, team officials announced Friday afternoon.
"We've got a great softball IQ joining the team in Ali," Bandits AGM Jourdan Skirha said. "She's been known as a student of the game and we can't wait to see talents shine here in Rosemont."
Aguilar attended University of Washington, playing alongside fellow Bandits Courtney Gano and Taran Alvelo. As a senior at UW, Aguilar led the Huskies in runs, home runs, and batting average. She finished her career filling several spots in the UW History books, including runs scored (239 - 1st), home runs (58 - 3rd), doubles (57 - 4th), and RBIs (208 - 6th). She was named to the Pac-12 first team three times and was a two-time All-American.
"I'm very thankful for the opportunity to be welcomed into the Chicago Bandits organization," Aguilar said in a statement. "I've watched the team compete over the years in the NPF, and I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. I'm excited to see what being a Bandit is all about!"
Aguilar was named to Team USA for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan and joins fellow Olympians Amanda Chidester, Hannah Flippen and Janie Reed in donning a Bandits uniform.
Over the past four years, she's helped the U.S. win two golds at the World Championships and two more at the Pan American Games. In 16 games on the Stand Beside Her tour earlier this year, she earned a .565 batting average with three home runs, two doubles, and 19 RBI.
Aguilar will make her Bandits debut when the team returns to Rosemont for the 2020 NPF season. For more information, please visit chicagobandits.com or call 877-722-6348.
