Morgan Added to Northern All-Star Team

Hickory, NC - Hickory Crawdads infielder Josh Morgan has been added to the South Atlantic League Northern Division All-Star team as an injury replacement, raising the number of 'Dads All-Stars to 8 players to go along with 4 coaches.

Morgan, 19, currently leads all Crawdads batters in average (.288), OBP (.377), and hits (59), while tying teammate and fellow All-Star Luke Tendler for the club lead in runs scored (30). A 3rd round selection by the Rangers in the 2014 Draft out of Orange Lutheran HS (CA), Morgan has hit .309 since the start of May while playing standout defense at both third base and shortstop.

The first half Northern Division Champion Crawdads are now tied with the Southern Division's Greenville Drive for the most All-Star players with eight. Morgan will be joined on the Northern Division team by fellow Hickory hitters in Tendler and Jose Trevino, along with pitchers Ariel Jurado, Luis Ortiz, Collin Wiles, John Fasola, and Yohander Mendez. The Northern coaching staff will also be managed by 'Dads skipper Corey Ragsdale, who will be joined by pitching coach Oscar Marin, hitting coach Francisco Matos, and athletic trainer Sean Fields.

The 56th Annual SAL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Asheville Tourists at McCormick Field in Asheville, NC on Tuesday, June 23rd.
