"We're off to a great start," noted Frank Boulton. "We're raising money for the QuackerJack Foundation and ticket sales have been brisk. Our web site is up and running and looks great. I am excited to see everybody out at the shows."
The Boulton Center also announced that tickets for An Evening with Colin Quinn have sold out. Quinn, the boisterous comedian best known for his late-90's stint on NBC's Saturday Night Live now hosts his own show on Comedy Central and will be appearing at the 250-seat theater for one night only. Proceeds from both concerts will benefit the QuackerJack Foundation, a philanthropic organization formed in 2003 to better serve many different charities on Long Island.
The Boulton Center for the Performing Arts of the Great South Bay YMCA seeks to establish itself as a premier cultural institution on Long Island. Located in the south shore hamlet of Bay Shore, The Boulton Center's mission is to provide high quality arts programs that entertain, educate and inspire a culturally, racially and economically diverse population that has been underserved by existing Long Island based cultural arts organizations. A wide range of programs and classes are offered across the arts spectrum including music, dance, film and spoken word. Particular emphasis is placed on education and outreach.
