More Changes on Riptide Line

San Diego – The San Diego Riptide reassigned OL/DL Michael Wessel and OL/DL Connor Stephens to the league office this week.

Wessel had played in five games this season contributing 4.5 tackles (three solo, three assisted). Stephens had played in eight games and recorded 8.5 tackles (five solo, seven assisted), made two sacks for 12-yards and recovered one fumble.

In the last several weeks, the Riptide have been assigned linemen Chris Nugent and Dustin Rykert, solidifying a line that was able to hold Hawaii to no sacks in their last game on June 19. Nugent has played in two games where he contributed four tackles (three tackles, two assisted) He also recorded an interception against the Coyotes in his first game with the Riptide. In Rykert's first game for the Riptide, he contributed three tackles including one sack against the Islanders.

Don't forget to bring your rally towel because it's going to be a playoff atmosphere at the Sports Arena. The Riptide return home to take on the National West Division Leader, Bakersfield Blitz, for the first time this season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and the first 3,000 fans will receive complementary Riptide ball caps, courtesy of Sportsbook.com.
