Moran Activated, Flande to Gwinnett

PEARL, MS - RHP Gary Moran was activated from the disabled list after completing his rehab assignment with the GCL Braves, and LHP Yohan Flande was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett from Double-A Mississippi.

Moran, 27, was 0-1 with a 4.82 ERA in two starts for the M-Braves before hitting the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on April 17. He began a rehab assignment on June 21. Moran did not allow an earned run in three rehab appearances with the GCL Braves, giving up two unearned runs on seven hits while striking out eight in seven innings of work. He was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Braves on June 7, 2011.

Flande, 27, made a spot-start for the M-Braves on June 30. He is 4-6 with a 5.52 ERA in 19 total outings at Triple-A Gwinnett. In six relief appearances, Flande is 1-0 with one save and a 4.22 ERA. In 13 starts for the G-Braves, he is 3-6 with a 5.73 ERA. Flande spent the entire 2011 and 2012 season with Gwinnett, going 8-8 with a 4.01 ERA his first season and 6-11 with a 4.21 mark last season. Last season, Flande led the G-Braves pitching staff in ERA (4.21), starts (27), quality starts (11), innings pitched (147.2) and strikeouts (106). After six seasons in the Phillies systems, Flande signed with the Braves as a minor-league free agent on December 30, 2010.

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players, 5 disabled and 1 MLB rehab.
