Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

The Blue Wahoos plated four during a fourth-inning rally but couldn't stave off the surging Suns as Jacksonville walked off 6-5. After the bullpen yielded two runs in the home half of the eighth, Jake Marisnick sealed the deal with a two-run round-tripper to win the game and the series. Here are the highlights from the defeat in tonight's Around the Horn:

FOR STARTERS: For the second time this week, shortstop Devin Lohman smacked a home run in his first at-bat. With a 0-1 count, the infielder and leadoff hitter walloped the next offering into the left-field seats to give the Blue Wahoos an early advantage.

SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM: The Wahoos may have a new calling card as they posted their second straight rally against the Suns. After a four-run spell in Monday's matinee, Pensacola repeated the feat tonight. Held only to Lohman's hit across the first three frames, the Wahoos sent eight batters to the plate as they cycled through the lineup. The offense shelled starter Anthony DeSclafani for three hits in the inning and ultimately knocked him out of the game in the fifth.

TEAM PLAYERS: With help from his fifth multi-RBI game, Travis Mattair brought in his thirty-second and thirty-third runners of the year. The mark ties Devin Lohman for most on the team. Returning backstop Danny Vicioso and outfielder Theo Bowe recorded another run batted in apiece.

STREAK STATUS: Yorman Rodriguez went 0-for-4 to end his on-base streak at thirteen games; the prospect had previously reached base in every game with the Blue Wahoos. Meanwhile, outfielder Donald Lutz tied a team record with a fifth-inning single as his hitting streak climbs to nine games since April 24.

The Wahoos (7-7) conclude the road series tomorrow with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 PM from the Baseball Grounds. Catch all the action on your local ESPN affiliate (1450 AM and 101.1 FM) or watch the live video feed available to online subscribers on MiLB.TV.
