The Halifax Mooseheads, in partnership with Canadian Forces Halifax Personnel Support Programs (PSP Halifax) are pleased to present their 5th Annual Halifax Mooseheads DND Appreciation Night on Saturday, November 8th when the Herd host the unbeaten Moncton Wildcats.
For this special event, the Mooseheads will be wearing specially designed jerseys with the Canadian Forces crest on them as well as the yellow support the troops ribbon on their helmets as a special tribute to the Canadian Forces. Fans are also encouraged to wear red to show their support for our Canadian Forces troops and veterans.
"DND Appreciation Night is a chance for the Mooseheads and their fans to pay tribute and say thanks to all the brave men and women of Canadian Forces who go above and beyond the call of duty each day" stated Brian Urquhart, Mooseheads Sales and Marketing Manager.
"We are very grateful that the Mooseheads have taken such a great interest in the Canadian Forces and we're very excited about this tremendous show of support. As far as I am aware, this is the first time that a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Team has gone to this extent to show support to the CF", said Ken Doucette, Corporate Services Director for PSP Halifax.
The Mooseheads will provide PSP Halifax with all 25 game jerseys to be auctioned off with proceeds going to a Canadian Forces charity prior to Christmas. Details of the charity of choice will be announced in the coming week.
Country star George Canyon, who will be accompanied by a Canadian Forces Flag Party, will on hand to perform the National Anthem. Videos and still clips will also be played on the SilverVision screen throughout the course of the evening.
