Halifax Mooseheads News Release

Halifax Mooseheads have released forwards Chad Earle and Michael MacIsaac from their training camp roster, Mooseheads' General Manager announced today. Both players will remain on the Mooseheads QMJHL protected list.

Earle, Halifax's fourth selection (round 8 - 134) in this summer's QMJHL Entry Draft, will return to the St. John's Midget AAA Maple Leafs.

MacIsaac, signed as a free agent Feb. 9, 2006, will return to Summerside of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League, where he played last season.

In addition, the team has informed defenceman Jean-Francois Brault that he will not be one of the Mooseheads' three 20-year-old players this season and he is currently assessing the options available to him.

Brault played in 115 games with the Mooseheads since being drafted by Halifax in 2003.

"It's sad to see Jean-Francois Brault come to the end of his career with the Mooseheads." Patenaude said. "Unfortunately, serious injuries the past two seasons kept him out of the lineup for long periods of time, which made it difficult for him in his development compared to other players.

"It is always the goal of the Mooseheads to assist their players in their future endeavors, both in their schooling and in continuing their hockey careers, and we will help Jean-Francois as much as possible to keep playing, either through a trade, or in helping to place him with a Junior A team."
