Moose release Gajic from PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have released centre Milan Gajic from his pro tryout contract. Gajic will return to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Gajic, 26, played in 16 games with the Moose since signing a PTO on Dec. 11/07. In that time, he's scored three goals and five assists for eight points and four penalty minutes. He scored two goals and an assist Dec. 31/07 vs. Lake Erie. In 16 games with the Salmon Kings this year, the Burnaby, B.C. native has scored eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points. Gajic has also earned two assists in four games with the AHL's Houston Aeros this year. Last season, Gajic tallied two goals and five points in six games with the Moose. In 43 career AHL games with Manitoba, Houston, and Providence, Gajic has scored five goals and 11 assists for 16 points and 14 penalty minutes. Gajic was originally drafted in the fourth round, 112th overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
