
Crunch Announce Winners of U.S. Army High School 'Recruits of the Week'

Syracuse, NY (January 28, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the winners of the U.S. Army High School 'Recruits of the Week' for the week ending January 27, 2008.
Throughout the 2007-08 season, the Crunch, along with the U.S. Army will present the U.S. Army 'Recruits of the Week' in Section III hockey. The 'Recruits of the Week' are high school hockey players in Section III who have been chosen for their outstanding play in that week's games.
Each week, winners will be chosen to represent each of the Section III hockey divisions (Division I, Division II - East and Division II - West).
The U.S. Army 'Recruits of the Week' for the week ending January 27 are:
Division I - Zach Wilder (Ithaca - Junior): Wilder gave Ithaca a chance to beat the top ranked West Genesee Wildcats by providing 34 saves and finishing with a .919 save percentage in the game, despite being on the losing end of a 3-2 final.
Division II - West - Keith Buehler (Skaneateles- Junior): Buelher ended the week with eight points (5g, 3a) in three games as the Lakers sailed to three straight victories.
Division II - East - Blaine Holcomb (Hamilton- Sophomore): Holcomb helped lead Hamilton to a 4-4 tie against F-M and a 6-0 shutout over Utica Proctor by scoring a combined five points (2g, 3a) in two games.
Winners will receive four (4) tickets to an upcoming Crunch home game and a special U.S. Army/Syracuse Crunch jersey, courtesy of the U.S. Army.

Division I - Tim Beiso (West Genesee), Matt Esposito (FM)
Division II - West - Anthony Bird (Central Square), Griffin Ferrigan (CBA)
Division II - East - TJ Reilley (RFA), Chris Snyder (Clinton)
The Crunch's next game is Friday, February 1 as they travel to Albany to take on the Albany River Rats. The Crunch's next home game is Saturday, February 2 vs. San Antonio at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling TicketMaster at (315) 472-0700.
