Moose Name Grehan Equipment Manager

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the team's athletic therapist, Mark Grehan, has been hired as the new equipment manager for the Manitoba Moose.

The Kingston, ON native spent the 2009-10 season as the Salmon Kings' athletic therapist, and will returns to Manitoba where he had spent the previous three seasons as the Moose's Assistant Athletic Therapist/Assistant Equipment Manager/Visiting Team Liaison. During his first stint with Manitoba, Grehan was selected to the 2006 AHL All-Star Game as an Assistant Therapist and worked four NHL exhibition games.

"We are very happy to see Mark get the job with the Manitoba Moose," General Manager and Head Coach Mark Morrison said. "He is a hardworking individual who has earned this opportunity. We are very proud to see another member of the Salmon Kings' family move up a step in the hockey world."

Grehan was invited by Hockey Canada to be the equipment manager at both the Deutschland Cup and MLP Cup during the 2008-09 season. He also spent time with Hockey Canada in 2007 (Women's Fall Festival & Women's World Championships) as well as 2005 (World Junior Exhibition Series).

A Certified Athletic Therapist, Grehan graduated from the Athletic Therapy program at the University of Manitoba in 2004.

The Salmon Kings open the 2010-11 season on Friday, October 15th in Idaho with a two-game set versus the defending National Conference champion Steelheads. Victoria returns home to open up their schedule at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre with a three-game set versus the Ontario Reign beginning Wednesday, October 27th.
