Moon Assigned to IceMen

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Sunday that they have assigned center Nathan Moon to their ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen.

Moon scored a goal and added an assist for two points in five games during his first call-up to the Falcons of 2012-2013. He ranks third on the IceMen with 33 points (14g-19a) in 43 contests this season and was Evansville's representative in the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game.

As a rookie in 2011-2012, Moon accumulated 32 points (12g-20a) in 72 games with the Worcester Sharks while also compiling 149 penalty minutes and a -4 mark. He began his pro career in the 2011 CHL Playoffs, winning a league championship with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Moon, a 23-year-old from Belleville, Ontario, was chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
