MONTGOMERY - The Tampa Bay Rays have made four roster changes affecting the Montgomery Biscuits.
Catcher John Jaso has been promoted to Durham (AAA- International League). Jaso was selected to start the Southern League Allstar game and was fifth in the league with a .408 on-base percentage. Jaso batted .271 with seven home runs and 43 RBIs. He walked 62 times and struck out just 33.
Catcher Craig Albernaz has been received from Vero Beach (A-Advanced - Florida State League). Albernaz batted .128 with one home run and seven RBIs in 18 games with the Vero Beach Devil Rays in 2008.
RHP Richard De Los Santos placed on the disabled list for soreness in his right shoulder. The move is retroactive to July 11. De Los Santos had thrown just five innings since returning from the disabled list on June 30.
LHP James Houser placed on disabled list following knee surgery. The move is retroactive to July 14. Houser led Biscuits starters with a 3.03 ERA, good enough for sixth in the Southern League overall. Houser has a 3-2 record with 69 strike outs and 34 walks in 86.0 innings pitched.
The Biscuits now have 22 active players and 4 on the disabled list.
