MONTGOMERY - The Tampa Bay Rays have announced a pair of roster moves affecting the Montgomery Biscuits.
Infielder Pat Cottrell, who broke his right thumb on Thursday, June 19 after he was hit by a pitch in the second inning, has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 20. He is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Cottrell had been hitting .214 with three home runs and 16 runs batted in, playing a combination of third base and second base.
In his place, the Biscuits have received outfielder J.T. Hall from Vero Beach (A-Advanced - Florida State League). Hall had been hitting .291 with Vero Beach in 64 games in his second season there. The corner outfielder had five home runs and 28 RBIs.
The Biscuits' roster stands at 24 active players, with 4 on the disabled list.
