LA Galaxy II vs. Monterey Bay F.C.
Dignity Health Sports Park; Carson, California
Wednesday, June 15, 2022; 7:30 p.m. PT
Records: LA Galaxy II (5-7-3, 18 points); Monterey Bay F.C. (4-9-0, 12 points)
Head-to-Head: LA Galaxy II has the early all-time advantage over Monterey Bay F.C. following its win in the first match between the sides on April 16. In the previous match, LA Galaxy II scored first just before the half in the 39th minute to take the 1-0 lead into the break. Then 12 minutes into the second half, Galaxy II doubled their lead.
Monterey Bay broke through in the 68th minute, when Morey Doner fired a cross into the box and Seku Conneh brilliantly smashed the ball into the back of the net with a diving header to bring the Crisp and Kelp back into the match. The Union went down to 10 men in the 81st minute when Hugh Roberts received a second yellow card caution, and LA Galaxy II scored five minutes later to put the game away for good at 3-1.
Notes: The match will be Monterey Bay's second regular-season trip to Dignity Health Sports Park this season, and second of three matches against LA Galaxy II overall. It will also mark the Union's first midweek match in club history, with the match taking place on Wednesday. Hugh Roberts will miss the match to serve a red card suspension for receiving two cautions in added time of the club's match against San Antonio over the weekend. This is Roberts second red card suspension this season, the first was earned against this LA Galaxy II side back in April, and the second leads him to miss the match against LA Galaxy II this time around. Monterey Bay F.C. is 2-6-0 all-time on the road, while LA Galaxy II is 53-39-32 all-time as hosts.
Injury Report: Rafi Diaz (shoulder), Simon Dawkins (ankle), Arun Basuljevic (calf) and Grant Robinson (hamstring) will all miss tomorrow's match, while Mobi Fehr (illness) and Seku Conneh (groin) are both currently considered questionable.
