Monterey Bay FC News Release
SEASIDE, California - Monterey Bay F.C. (6-4-5, 23 points) returns to action Saturday with a 7 p.m. PT kickoff at home against Miami FC (2-6-7, 13 points) in Week 16 of the 2023 USL Championship regular season, presented by the U.S. Women's Open. Saturday's match will be broadcast locally on KION (46 & 23 over the air, 46 Dish, 27 DirecTV and 5/705 HD Xfinity), with live streaming available on Hulu, Paramount+, YouTubeTV, FuboTV, and ESPN+.
The Crisp and Kelp last met Miami FC near the end of the Club's inaugural campaign last season on September 24 at Riccardo Silva Stadium in South Florida. Despite the long travel, Monterey Bay managed to carve out a point on the road with a scoreless shutout. It was Union's final positive result of the year before crashing out in the last four matches of the campaign.
This time around, the Union will come into the match riding a four-match unbeaten streak and three consecutive wins. Most recently, the Crisp and Kelp went on the road to Sacramento and handed Republic FC its first home loss of the campaign and first loss in the previous 10 matches at Heart Health Park dating back to September 28, 2022. It was also just the second time this season that Sacramento has been shutout in a match and the first since April 8.
Having now moved up into the top four in the Western Conference, Monterey Bay will look to continue its way up the table with a home win over a currently-struggling Miami FC side that is sitting second-to-last in the East. On the other side, Miami FC enters the fray under newly-named interim Head Coach Lewis Neal as the club parted ways with Anthony Pulis midweek.
