CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Behind a five-run fifth inning and a huge night from Preston Beck, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, toppled the Corpus Christi Hooks 9-4 Sunday at Whataburger Field.
BIG MOMENTS
* With the game tied 3-3 after four innings, the Riders unloaded for five runs in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run single from Destin Hood.
* Beck finished the night 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, notching his long ball against Astros top pitching prospect Forrest Whitley in the first inning.
* Frisco starter Pedro Payano twirled five solid innings to earn the win.

* Beck's first-inning homer was the first long ball for the Riders in the last nine games.
* The Riders held the Hooks to exactly four runs in all four games of the weekend series.
* Frisco will take the next three days off as part of the Texas League's all-star break. Reed Garrett and Michael O'Neill will be participating in Tuesday's game at Midland. Additionally, Wes Benjamin, Hunter Cole, Ariel Jurado and Richelson Pena were selected to the showcase.
