Moncton Wildcats News Release

The Wildcats have started invitations to free agent players for training camp in August. So far invites have been extended to Matthew Milson from Miramichi N.B., Mitchell Fraser from Thorburn N.S. and Collin Gates from Halifax N.S.

Milson is a 5'11, 175 pound forward. In the 2007-08 season Milson netted five goals and eight assists with the Woodstock Slammers of the MJAHL.

"Matt has played two years of junior hockey in Woodstock and is a good solid two-way forward," explained Danny Flynn, head coach and director of hockey operations of the Moncton Wildcats.

Fraser, a 6'1, 175 pound defenseman played for the Weeks Major Midgets of the NSMMHL in 2007-08. In the regular season Fraser gathered 12 points, one goal and 11 assists.

"Mitchell is a tall lanky left defenseman with a good upside. He was a player that was on our list and deserved to be drafted," said Flynn.

From the NSMMHL, Gates is 6'2 and 205 pounds. In 2007-08 he had five goals and seven assists in the regular season.

"Collin is a big, strong, grinding winger that played with the Dartmouth Subways. Every time I saw him he played well. He is another player that deserved to be drafted," commented Flynn.

Training camp is slated to start August 29, 2008 at the Tim Horton's 4 Ice Centre.
