Moncton Miracles News Release
From start to finish, the Miracles were in charge.
The Moncton Miracles gain a game on the second place Island Storm as they defeated them at home, 102-91.
The home team went on a 7-0 run to start the game, closed out the quarter 25-17 and kept the rally moving.
Being the biggest team in the conference often creates some match-up challenges and tonight was no exception. The Miracles held the edge on the Storm on the glass, out rebounding them 56-46.
Johnny Mayhane paced the Miracles with 29 points and 4 rebounds. Trayvon Lathan chipped in with 21 points to go along with 8 boards.
Antonio Ballard and Nick Okorie were the two stand-out performers for the Island, finishing with 27 and 24 points respectively.
The Miracles also won the turnover battle (24-27) shot more free throws (34-22) and shot better percentages all across the board: 42%-41% from the field, 50%-37% from the three point line, and 74%-59% from the free throw stripe.
The Miracles lead by as many as 15 and held a comfortable lead for the majority of the game.
Be on hand for the next game on Saturday night at 7 pm as the Halifax Rainmen roll into town.
