Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Seeley announced the team has signed Craig Wyszomirski to a Standard Player Contract for the 2016-17 season.
The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.
Wyszomirski, 24, re-signed with Manchester to begin his first full professional season after spending the majority of the 2015-16 season at Merrimack College (H-East). With the Warriors, Wyszomirski recorded three points on two goals and one assist during his junior season, and finished his time at Merrimack with five points on two goals and three assists in 74 career games.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound native of Mahwah, N.J. skated in seven regular season games with the Monarchs without recording a point after the Merrimack season ended, and appeared in three Kelly Cup Playoff games for Manchester.
Wyszomirski began his collegiate career at Providence College (H-East) and transferred after playing in four games during his freshman season. Before he made the move to Merrimack, Wyszomirski spent a season with the Surrey Eagles (BCHL) where he scored 36 points on eight goals and 28 assists, while logging 78 penalty minutes in 54 games. Wyszomirski also added 10 points on three goals and seven assists in 17 playoff games that season.
Wyszomirski and the Monarchs open the 2016-17 regular season Oct. 14 (7 p.m.), when they host the Adirondack Thunder for the first of two games on Opening Weekend.
