MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Manchester Monarchs, in partnership with HOPE for NH Recovery, are excited to announce that Keynote Speaker, Rich Clune, and Buffalo Sabres standout rookie, Jack Eichel, will be in attendance at the inaugural Hockey for HOPE Dinner, presented by Werner Mazda on June 12, 2016 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.

Rich Clune is an award-winning professional and internationally recognized athlete, as well as decorated philanthropist and businessman. The Toronto, Ontario native was drafted in the third round (#71 overall) by Dallas Stars in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft before being acquired by the Los Angeles Kings. Clune played in parts of five seasons with the Monarchs, appearing in 236 games, scoring 67 points on 23 goals and 44 assists.

"I am excited and proud to return to Manchester for this amazing event," Clune said. "Manchester is where I spent my formative years and met some great teammates, friends and fans who helped me become the man I am today. To re-visit those moments while raising awareness about an issue threatening a place I truly cherish is very important to me and my family. I look forward to stepping into the Verizon Wireless Arena where we had a lot of competitive games and playing a new one to help better treat addiction and mental health in New Hampshire."

Clune's personal story of recovery from addiction has led him to become a mental health advocate for several Toronto-based groups.

Eichel was the second-overall selection by the Sabres in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft after becoming only the second freshman ever to win the Hobey Baker Award, given to the top NCAA men's hockey player in the country. The Chelmsford, Mass. native attended Boston University and earned First Team Hockey East and All-Rookie Team nominations, led Hockey East in scoring and was named the league's Player of the Year in his lone collegiate season.

Rich Clune is currently in pursuit of the Calder Cup with the AHL's Toronto Marlies and is very dedicated and focused during their playoff run. Upon completion of the Calder Cup Playoffs, we welcome Rich as the Keynote Speaker at the Hockey for Hope Dinner.
