EXPECTING A QUICK START: Reading and Manchester rank 2nd and 3rd respectively when it comes to scoring the first goal this season. The Royals have scored first 18 times in their 27 games, while the Monarchs have been the first team on the board 17 times in their 28 games played. Reading holds a 13-3-2-0 record when scoring first and Manchester has gone 11-4-1-1 when lighting the lamp first.

FLASHING LEITS: Matt Leitner continues to shine for the Monarchs, and is currently on a nine-game point streak, with five goals and 11 assists for 16 points during that stretch. A five-assist night against Greenville on Dec. 15 was a Monarchs season high. Today marks exactly one month since Leitner last played in a game when he did not record a point.

SOMETHING MUST GIVE: The Monarchs enter tonight's game with the ECHL's best road record at 11-4-1-1, but will be up against a good home team in the Royals, who have posted a 9-3-0-0 record inside Santander Arena. In their 12 home games this season, the Royals have averaged 3.58 goals per game and 2.58 goals against, opposed to their 2.60 goals for and 3.00 goals against while on the road. When away from SNHU Arena, the Monarchs have averaged 4.41 goals for.
