Three key points of the game:
- After going down 0-1 in the 18th minute, the Monarchs were able to respond 10 minutes later. The visitors had a possession of the ball and worked up the field until Ricardo Velazco dribbled to the end line. He then crossed it to Boyd Okwuonu who was able to head the ball down past the LA goalkeeper to tie up the game at 1-1. It was Okwuonu's first goal of the season, and Velazco's 6th assist on the year. - This game marks the end of the season for the Monarchs finishing 11th in the West with 36 points. This is a step up from last season where the Monarchs finish last in the West with 32 points. - Saturday night's game is the second appearance that GK Connor Sparrow has made in the USL regular season. The last time Sparrow played was against LA Galaxy II back in April where they tied 3-3. Sparrow came up big tonight having three saves that were key in keeping the Monarchs in the game in the first half.
