MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, announced today that David Kolomatis has signed a contract with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and Matt Leitner was recalled by the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

Kolomatis, 26, served as the Monarchs captain this season and scored 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, with a -8 rating and 16 penalty minutes. The veteran played in 35 games with the Monarchs this season, registering two game-winning-goals while ranking 5th in the ECHL for shots on goal by a defenseman with 102.

The Basking Ridge, N.J. native was selected in the 5th round (#126 overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. After playing three seasons with the Owen Sound Attack (OHL), Kolomatis played in 350 professional games with the Monarchs, Providence Bruins and Hershey Bears. Kolomatis played for Tappara Tampere (Liiga) in 2014-15 before returning to the Monarchs before the start of the season. Kolomatis was named the 13th captain in franchise history.

Leitner, 25, played in all 40 games for the Monarchs this season, leading the Monarchs in scoring with 34 points on eight goals and 26 assists. Leitner's 34 points ranks third in the ECHL for rookies, and his 26 assists ranks second for first-year skaters.

The Los Alamitos, Calif. Native played four years collegiately at Minnesota State University-Mankato, leaving the school second all-time in D-I games played (158) and first in school history with 113 assists. Leitner was named a 2014-15 AHCA/CCM West First Team All-American and is the only player in school history to lead the team in scoring for four consecutive seasons.

The Monarchs are back on the ice this afternoon (3 p.m.) when they host the Adirondack Thunder in the final game of a three-game series, looking to regain the top spot in the East Division.
